The idea...

I've spent a lot of time thinking of ways for our family and friends to share memories of our dad, and I think this blog will be a great way to do that. Although we are separated geographically, this site will allow us to unite online to post photos, video, music, notes, and memories. Everyone should feel free to add content- if you're not a blog administrator, you can contact me via email or Facebook and I'll make sure to add it.

To get this thing started....this is one of my favorite pictures of dad and me. It's from last summer, when he and mom spent almost a WHOLE WEEK with us (Brett's family and I) in Garden City, SC. We had so much fun! Dad had never really spent that much time away since their honeymoon, and I truly cherish the time we spent there. We went putt-putt golfing, fishing, laid out on the beach, and (as you can see in this picture) went crabbing! Dad was super excited to finally catch one :-)

Brett says, "That was a fun vacation. I remember that day well. We introduced Bobby to the art of heading shrimp. He had a great time crabbing, though he was a little scared when we couldn't get the boat started in the middle of the marsh. I am glad that I was able to know him for the few years I did. He was never too busy to stop his barn work to answer any of my questions about dairy farming (and they were a lot)."
